100 Things About ME

My friend, Michelle, at Painted Desert Serenade posted "100 Things About Me" (as in herself) on her blog. I ignored her tag at first. I didn't think I could think of 100 things about myself, but then I decided maybe I should. I had to do a lot of thinking. It took a lot of time. I used what Michelle wrote about herself as some of my prompts. Maybe you'll learn something new about me.

1. I like to read, but I don't read enough.

2. Right now I'm reading, The Miracle of Forgiveness.

3. I have no problem thinking of things to do to occupy my time. I'm definitely a multi-tasker and I definitely have too many irons in the fire.

4. I like blogs better than Facebook. That's right I said it!

5. I am hard of hearing.

6. I wish I had more time.

7. I like cooking, but because of my multi-tasking mentality I never really enjoy it like I want to. I'm always in a rush.

8. I'd like to buy a nice camera and learn to take beautiful pictures.

9. I would like to write a song/songs.

10. I love chocolate!

11. I would like to write a book/books.

12. I am not an animal person even though I have tried to be. My allergies get the best of me.

13. I would like to write a poem/poems.

14. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I..... need..... more..... time!












15. I do Indexing. It's a genealogy thing.

16. I wish I was better at family history. I spin my wheels on dead ends waiting for a miracle.

17. I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

18. I have a testimony of the divine truth.

19. I am not grateful enough.

20. I was born in Pomona, California.

21. I first lived in Ontario, California for 18 months.

22. I have lived in Lancaster, CA ever since, except for the 16 months I was in in Provo, Utah going to BYU and the additional two years my husband attended BYU.

23. I went to Park View School - Kindergarten thru 8th grade.

24. I graduated from Antelope Valley High School, 1971.

25. I attended Antelope Valley College for two years.

26. I graduated from Brigham Young University, April 1975 (but actually finished in Dec. 1974).

27. I like gardening, but my skin doesn't like it.

28. I love the California poppies. If you've never seen them, it's really worth the drive.









29. I have only fake plants in my house. It's an allergy thing.

30. I have volunteered in my children's classrooms for 25 years. Now I'm starting on the grandkid's classes.

31. I have eight grandchildren.

32. I wish I was more hospitable.

33. I am the oldest of four children.

34. My favorite color is RED.

35. My husband and I first met at a stake dance. We were both 16.

36. I like going to museums and art galleries.

37. I wish I knew more about computers. I would like to take a class.

38. I like playing the piano. I wish I had lots of time to practice.

39. I like singing. My allergies prevent me from focusing on this experience.

40. I have never been outside the USA, but I have a passport.

41. I like to travel, but it's expensive so I don't.

42. I have always wanted to visit Jerusalem.

43. I really wished I could have visited my son and his family in Okinawa, but it didn't work out. They are moving to Pensacola, Florida this summer. Maybe I'll get to visit them there.

44. I would like to learn American Sign Language. I want to take a class at the college.

45. If I were going to buy a car today, it would be a Honda CR-V.

46. I'm learning to play the organ. I'm all about it!

47. I would like to learn to speak Spanish. I need to take a class at the college.

48. I feel bad that I didn't teach all my children how to play the piano.

49. I need to get our family pictures in order.

50. I hope they call me on a mission.

51. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving - family and food.

52. I like to sew, but it takes time I feel like I don't have.

53. Independence Day is my birthday. Even though I love my country I always feel like the fireworks are for me.

54. Yes, I admit it, I'm a TWIHARD.

















55. I like being a grandmother. I wish I had more time to enjoy it. Can you tell I'm on overload?

56. I don't like being on overload!

57. I'm so concerned for our country and the world.

58. I've always wanted to go back to school and get a Master's degree, but it just doesn't seem to be an option.

59. My first job was at The Society of Experimental Test Pilots helping with office work.

60. My second job was working in food service at BYU.

61. My third job was a summer school teacher's aide at Sunnydale School.

62. My fourth job was a secretary at Edwards Air Force Base - LGMQA, Quality Control.

63. My fifth job was a terminal operator in the Transfer Office at BYU.

64. My current job is a substitute teacher for Lancaster School District. I mostly do special needs classes.

65. I enjoy being with my husband. He's my best friend and more.

66. I love the rain.

67. I like to play Settlers of Catan.

68. I like art - drawing and painting. I need to take more classes at the college.

69. I really need to lose weight.

70. I'm a caregiver for my father.

71. I have seven children, but if I count my first daughter, Martha Ann, (and she does count) I have an even four boys and four girls.

72. I wish I had more children.

73. I was married in the Los Angeles Temple, February 12, 1976 on a Thursday evening.

74. I love to save quotes. I'm working on a project putting my recipes together with my favorite quotes.

75. I love to see the temple, but I'd really like to see one in Lancaster.

76. I'd love to live on the beach.

77. My favorite season is Autumn.

78. I like getting a good deal and saving money. Wish I was better at it.

79. I have had plastic surgery.

80. I've been journaling since high school.

81. I like being alone probably because I never get to be alone.

82. I like watching and playing basketball.

83. I love live theatre.

84. I've always wished I had learned ballet as a child.

85. One of my favorite books is Cheaper By The Dozen. I giggle when I read it.

86. I like to crochet, but it better be easy.

87. I am not a Disneyland person.

88. My children got me started on blogging.

89. I think the movie While You Were Sleeping is hilarious.

90. I'm an excellent typist.

91. I say I like to go camping, but a lot can go wrong that can make it miserable. Been there, done that!

92. I'm not a good test taker.

93. I've never owned a new car.

94. I like playing Scrabble. It's a Reynders thing.

95. I like to dance.

96. I like to eat Brussels sprouts.

97. I'm a little bit Country AND a little bit Rock n' Roll AND more.

98. Beam me up, Scotty! Yes, I'm a Trekkie.


99. I'm all about food storage, but am I prepared enough?

100. Being a mother is the best and hardest job ever.

  2. I can't claim a favorite. I'm good for a trip to the little Western Hotel on Lancaster Blvd. and then on to something bigger like the Getty.

  3. Martha, Wish I was their to take a painting class together and help you organize your pictures. If you get a nice camera I am sure with your artistic eye you will have beautiful pictures. Have fun,
