Ma and Pa Blair
From 1856 to 1860, ten handcart companies ventured to what is now Salt Lake City. Eight arrived in a timely manner, but the Willie and Martin companies struggled, leaving late, and encountering sever winter weather.
Our experience is not like theirs, but our four-day trek gave us a glimpse of what they encountered. We learned to have "faith in every footstep" and to "look to God and live." The whole adventure was amazing, hard, and spiritual at the same time. We made new friends and got closer to God. We were grateful to have been asked to participate.
